On May 21, 2022, Troop 53 celebrated the achievement of Eagle Scout rank by Tyler Mascareñas. Tyler has been a scout in Troop 53 for over 10 years.

It was a moving ceremony, but full of pride. Few, if any, were able to hold back their tears. For those of us who have watched Tyler progress through ranks since 3rd grade, it was an awesome event.

For his Eagle Scout project, Tyler built four benches for two parks in the City of Rio Rancho. His total project took 210 man hours to complete in addition to 36 hours of
planning.
